Default everycontractor.com

I was just solicted by these people. Did not stay on phone long enough because I just can't stand companies like this ... such a waste of time and lots of money from what I read today.

Here is one link that sums it up. You can also search their name, lots of bad press.

http://www.complaintsboard.com/compl...om-c56224.html

Please keep this on topic ... dare I say

While I feel bad the guy got ripped off, who gives $3000 in advance to an advertiser? They are notorious for being scumbags.

Reminds me of a scumbag I dealt with a few years back. I was buying some advertising and was asked to sign a blank proof for the ad. I refused. I said I wanted to see the ad before I signed any proofs. He insisted I was only signing to OK them to put a proof together. The ad would not run until I signed the final proof. Long story short they ran the ad and I never saw the proof. When I called and chewed them out the woman said , "Well you signed the proof didn't you?" Yup, I learned early on, advertisers are scumbags.

And.......

A friends girlfriend was an advertising rep for a major newspaper around here. She was fired for forging signatures on advertising contracts. She told my friend she'd forge a signature, get her commission, and in most cases the victim would pay for the ad rather then get dragged into court by the papers legal dept. This was apparently a common practice. Yellow Book was caught multiple times doing this as well.

Thanks for staying on topic 3 posts in a row. I for one am tired of being ripped off by advertisers / lead gens. Better off staying small any way with gas and insurance so high.

I signed up with them last year in September. Cost me $75. One or two leads....no sales. I know one of them was an "investment property/rental" that the LL did not want to spend any money on. The other "lead" I got was a HO, Rodney Williams something-something III from the east side and on the description he put "I am ready for contractors to contact me about my home." Translation: "I am too lazy to call contractors and get estimates, I just want you to email me your lowest price."

If the customer cannot pick up the phone I know they don't know what the heck they want to do. They think everything can be done "online" including installing an air conditioner.

What is this world comming to?

Name your own price for airline tickets or air conditioners on Priceline.com. lol

BTW, after the last...ahem, lead, I canceled Everycontractor.com.

I just got a lead from Trane website. Again, lazy customer only wants prices.... and "how much is the rebate?"

How about I come out and see what we need to do?

"Our house is 1300sf. How much, how much, how much?"

sounds like Every contractor is a lot like Service Magic, but at least SM will send leads to 5 or 6 contractors, all at the same time.

The real similarity is the "customers" are all bottom feeders
